Guardian glass features on worlds tallest building

A Guardian Industries product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Mar 10, 2010

Guardian Industries has supplied Sunguard Solar Silver 20 and Climaguard NLT Low-E glazing for the Burj Khalifa in the United Arab Emirates, the world's tallest building.

An adjacent residential project also features Guardian glass.

Both the Sunguard and Climaguard products offer superior solar and thermal performance.

The glass provides an anti-glare shield for the strong desert sun, and high light reflectance to prevent the interior from overheating.

It also has to withstand extreme desert temperature swings and strong winds.

Guardian plants in Germany and Luxembourg produced the coated glass for the project, one of the largest orders of coated glass in the company's history.

Guardian is also supplying the glass for the Burj Residence project, six towers that surround the Burj Khalifa.

The Burj Residence will use Sunguard HP Green 63 which was produced at Guardian's Thailand float glass plant and coated at Guardian's Luxembourg float glass plant.

Guardian has 27 float plants around the world including one in the UAE, located in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
