Revolutionary Revolving Door
New VISTA-Style and VISTA-Lite revolving doors from GU Technologies offer flexibility and greater all-round visibility in matching chosen aluminium curtain walling or ground floor treatment systems.
Vista-Lite Provides The Big Picture
GU Technologies was commissioned by JML Engineered Facades (UK) Ltd to supply four sets of its Vista-Lite revolving door system for the new commercial office building, located in London's Victoria.
Hanover Square, begun in 1714, was the first of London's great Squares.
A Grade II listed building, the property in question was once home to Prince Talleyrand, renowned French Statesman and Diplomatist.
Making the necessary alterations to the existing manual doors was no easy task, as Jonathan Nobbs of GU Technologies explains: "The conversion of the existing doors to automatic doors was the most challenging aspect of the extensive programme of work undertaken to improve access to the site.
A particular requirement was to find a covert solution that would keep intact the intricate carving on the door transom, in itself a listed feature of this Georgian building.
GU Technologies' in-floor operator allowed the client to fully meet both heritage and DDA requirements whilst catering for constant traffic in and out of the building." Offering all the advantages of automation in a concealed unit, GU Technologies' FD-M swing door unit features an electro-hydraulic drive and gearbox housed in a zinc-plated steel casing, which is embedded in cement.
A smooth finish at ground level was ensured on-site at Hanover Square by the use of a stainless steel cover plate (this product is also available with optional cover for tiled or polished stone finishes).
The FD-M in floor operator is one of a number of products developed by automatic door specialists GU Technologies to address specific architectural challenges.
