Hattersley valves control Ricoh Arena
Ricoh Arena, the new home of Coventry City FC, has Hattersley valves at the heart of the HVAC systems.
The recently introduced Hattersley Multi-Therm valves are being installed to help protect against Legionella.
These valves enable hot water services to be operated at temperatures at which the Legionella bacteria cannot survive and provide thermal balance for these systems.
These valves can be set to operate between 50 to 65C.
When the water temperature is increased to allow disinfection, the Multi-Therm automatically switches off the regulation function to allow disinfection and automatically resumes the regulating function when the temperature returns to normal operating conditions.
The new hospital is due for completion in 2012 and will house most of south Birmingham's health facilities on a single site.
The total construction site is 185,000 square metres and the hospital corridors will host some 60,000 metres of pipe servicing.
Construction work is a joint venture between Balfour Beatty Construction and Haden Young.
