After the formalities of the evening were over there was still time for everyone to taste the chocolate fountain, sample the blue vodka from the 'digger' ice sculpture and be wowed by the close-hand magaician.
And the talking point of the evening....a painted lady on a platter of fruit and chocolate in the boardroom! Alan Cooper told those attending how Hewlett is keen to develop the company and the people within it , and has plans to achieve even more business success with a target turnover of GBP60 million predicted within the next few years.
In partnership with clients - some of which have been with the company since the early days - staff and individuals, Hewlett has grown and maintained a strong presence throughout Northern England as one of the leading civil engineering company's.
Today it is one of Yorkshire's foremost privately owned multi-disciplinary group of companies whose principle activities comprise civil engineering, building, rail, the hire of plant and machinery and commercial property development.
With a turnover of over GBP47 million Hewlett now employs over 400 staff.
Under the direction of John Duffy, the Hewlett Group is in the enviable position of programming work ahead for up to five years and the company is forecasting continued expansion.
Headed by Managing Director Alan Cooper, Hewlett Civil Engineering continues with a number of large contracts, notably with Bovis LL, Barratt Homes and Stirling Capitol.
In West Yorkshire the company is progressing well on a number of road and earthmoving contracts amounting to a value in excess of GBP15m, in addition to an GBP8million scheme adjacent to the M62 motorway, junction 32 for Premier Property Group - underlining client confidence in Hewlett's expertise, commitment and service delivery.
