Strong performance in challenging conditions as Hewlett reports 42% increase in turnover.

Operational highlights.

* Re-structure of board of directors - as result of continued successful growth and in order to strengthen the Senior Management team.

* A new Executive Board of Directors established comprising John Duffy - Chairman, Alan Cooper - Managing Director, Mark Hills - Group Financial Director and John Spear - Financial Director.

* Launch of Hewlett Rail Limited.

Financial highlights:.

* Construction Group turnover increased by 42% to GBP60m (2007: GBP42.7m).

* Pre-tax profit increased to GBP1.7m, a growth of 42%.

Commenting on the results Alan Cooper, Managing Director of Hewlett said: "In challenging market conditions, we have again delivered a strong performance, record growth and achieved a strong bottom line result.

This performance reflects the company's decision last year to increase the investment in the infrastructure of its business, improve risk management and business controls and focus on enhancing service delivery to our customers "The 2008 results also clearly demonstrate the benefit of our strong and diversified portfolio - we have completed a substantial number of contracts ranging in value from GBP100,000 to GBP9.5 million".

Looking forward Alan Cooper says Hewlett will continue to deliver on its business strategy, predict and harness growth opportunities created by major changes in the market, provide operational excellence to its clients, and invest in its people and culture.
