Minett Construction of Northampton has been appointed a recommended contractor for H+H Celcon's Ra House, a new concept in quick and efficient masonry construction.

Minett Construction of Northampton has been appointed a recommended contractor for H+H Celcon's Ra House, a new concept in quick and efficient masonry construction Ra House, which uses teams of expert installers to quickly and efficiently build the complete weatherproof, high quality masonry shell of a house, was launched by H+H Celcon last autumn in response to the growing demand for Modern Methods of Construction

Using Celcon aircrete blocks with the Thin-Joint system, engineered flooring systems and proprietary roofs, with options for Celcon Foundation blocks and the Celcon Flooring System at ground floor, it provides a combined package of build and materials.

This enables builders to benefit from the most modern materials and lean processes available today.

Benefits include enhanced airtightness, due to the properties of Celcon aircrete, speed of construction and quality of build.

The Minett Group was established in Northampton in 1997 by Simon Minett, principally to provide a brickwork contracting service to East Midlands customers.

Due to the company's success Simon found that his need for bricklayers outstripped supply, so he developed a training division.

This quickly became a major part of the company and its ethos, and has helped to establish the company's reputation for quality construction.

Minett already has a Ra House project under way for KingsOak Homes at Oxley Park, Milton Keynes.

Commenting on his company's appointment at the formal contract signing Simon Minett said: "I'm firmly convinced that this system is the future for the industry".

"With the latest revisions to Part L of the Building Regulations making air-pressure testing mandatory and with demands for increased thermal insulation, having a single point of responsibility in case of problems is vital for fast and efficient construction".

"The revised Building Regulations are pushing the building industry towards aircrete, which performs better than other materials under pressure testing and Thin-Joint is clearly better than fat joint".

"I believe the conventional methods of building we have known for so long will eventually fade away.".
