H+H UK is promoting the unique Ra House system and the sustainable properties of aircrete on stand number M5 at Housebuilding 2007 at the Business Design Centre, London.

Ra House is the combined product and labour package which produces a robust aircrete masonry envelope in a build time comparable to frame systems It uses Celcon Plus blocks with the Thin-Joint system for the external and internal walls, with proprietary intermediate floors and a weather-tight roof ready for tiling

Well-practiced teams of Expert Installers are able to build the envelope in extra-quick time and ensure a superior build quality.

The concept offers similar build speed to frame systems but without the lead-time required for manufacture, and offers greater design flexibility.

The Celcon Flooring System and Celcon Foundation blocks, which can also form part of the Ra House package, will also be promoted.

Commented Ian Exall, head of marketing for H+H UK: "Our network of Recommended Contractors for Ra House has doubled in size since the beginning of this year and an increasing number of housebuilders and housing associations around the UK are now using the system".

"Not only does the concept speed construction but the high level of insulation offered by aircrete and the sustainable nature of the material itself are becoming increasingly important factors leading specifiers to choose Celcon products".

The Housing Corporation and English Partnerships accept H+H UK's Thin-Joint System as a Modern Method of Construction (MMC).

Using aircrete blockwork for foundations, external walls, ground floors and partitions boosts a scheme's chances of achieving 'A' ratings (under the BRE's Green Guide to Specification).

An inner leaf of Thin-Jointed Celcon aircrete blocks with a filled cavity of 100mm or less can achieve a U-value of 0.25W/mK, which should enable a Celcon aircrete house to comfortably achieve level 3 under the recently introduced Code for Sustainable Homes.

Stand number M5 at Housebuilding 2007 (Business Design Centre, London, 9-10 October).
