H+H Celcon enlarges Ra Build network

A H+H Celcon product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Aug 15, 2008

H+H increase its number of approved Ra Build partners with Wales based Conwen Construction and City Brickwork of London appointed as recommended contractors.

Ra Build is a combined product and labour package which produces a robust aircrete masonry envelope in a build time comparable to frame systems.

It uses H+H Plus blocks with the Thin-Joint system for the external and internal walls, with proprietary intermediate floors and a weather-tight roof ready for tiling.

Formerly know as Ra House, the method has recently been renamed Ra Build to reflect the fact that the H+H Thin-Joint system can be used in more than just house construction.

Conwen achieved partnering status at their Maes yr Haf, Ammanford site where they are building 10 apartments and 10 houses for Synergy Ventures.

This is one of three sites where Conwen are currently using thin joint, including a scenic 13 Bungalow site, also in Ammanford.

Proprietor Owen Smart said, "We decided to use the Thin- Joint system due to the speed advantage it brings to the build".

"We were looking at the timber frame method, but even being a carpenter by trade, I prefer the way Thin- Joint works".

"My customers are also impressed by how quickly we can get the walls up, all in all it is an excellent system." City Brickwork achieved partnering status after using the Thin Joint system on two large Durkan projects; new nursing quarters for the QE2 Hospital site at Welwyn Garden City and several apartment blocks in Acton, West London.
