Refurbishment Waste Minimised
Higgins Construction PLC is the first building company to monitor waste created by refurbishing homes in estate regeneration with the Building Research Establishment.
September 22 is the date that the first resident opens their door to the refurbishment team for the five-year project.
Higgins brings its resident liaison team, as all the homes remain occupied throughout the work.
Details on the job sheet for the houses and flats, which vary in style from the 1950s and 60s, include new windows and re-wiring.
The homes were transferred from Reigate and Banstead Borough Council in March 2002 after a ballot of the tenants.
Eighty per cent of the tenants voted in favour of the transfer, when the investment in these repairs and improvements was promised.
