Higgins Construction PLC has won a £2.4 million contract to refurbish a 5-storey block of flats in Rotherhithe for client, London Borough of Southwark by 2005.
Higgins will commence refurbishing the block later this month whilst the residents of its 101 flats remain in occupation The works involve installing new double-glazed windows, a flat-to-pitch roof conversion, fa?ade repairs, and new electrical, kitchen and bathroom installations internally
The traditional contract is part of Higgins overall workload at the ?110 million partnered regeneration scheme at the Silwood Estate.
This massive regeneration of the Silwood Estate involves three RSLs and two London Boroughs - London and Quadrant Housing Association, Presentation Housing Association, Tower Homes and the London Borough's of Lewisham and Southwark.
