Higgins Group PLC sponsors new football training for the community with the Hammers
Local school children celebrated the launch of the new Higgins Sports Link training centre in Beckton under West Ham United's In The Community scheme with club Chairman Terence Brown, development manager Roger Morgan, Higgins Group PLC Chairman Richard Higgins, development officer Andrew Morgan and Higgins Group HR manager Chris Parle The centre is now available for groups of all ages to enjoy and develop their football, with evening sessions already being booked by local teams whilst schools, colleges and other community groups take advantage in the day

Higgins Construction PLC has won a £2.4 million contract to refurbish a 5-storey block of flats in Rotherhithe for client, London Borough of Southwark by 2005.
The centre is also promoting the facilities for lunchtime use by teams from local companies.
At the official launch on Wednesday 24 November, the all-weather pitches were filled by as many girls as boys being coached by West Ham United's In The Community team, observed by club professionals Christian Dailly and Malky Mackay.
The centre is used for selecting under-9s candidates for the West Ham United Academy, as well as being the official training ground of West Ham United Girls and Ladies.
West Ham United Chairman Terence Brown said: "The new centre provides local community groups with training facilities to match the very best used at professional level.
This can only help children get the most from their sport." "Of course, I'm delighted we can support my favourite football club in bringing professional level training facilities to local people," said Richard Higgins of Higgins Group PLC, which is now the official sponsor of West Ham United's community initiatives.
