Higgins Construction PLC is the first building company to monitor waste created by refurbishing homes in estate regeneration with the Building Research Establishment.
The team of volunteers that includes professional carpenters, electricians, plumbers and decorators from Higgins' supply chain of contractors, as well as housing association staff, has a deadline to finish on 7 July.
Higgins is currently engaged in five housing regeneration contracts for Barking and Dagenham valued at GBP 15 million in total.
