Are you a manufacturer or distributor of mechanical, electrical, data, security, fire detection or lighting product? Are your products genuinely innovative but buried beneath the usual dreary round of cut-price selling? Well, Hills Electrical and Mechanical plc would like to hear from you.
If your product really is new, fresh and innovative you could be joining us at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens in October for a glittering night of fun and surprises.
Hills is once again throwing down the gauntlet of to all suppliers of mechanical, electrical and data installation products launched in the last 12 months and challenging them to demonstrate innovation, value for money and safety by entering the Hills Preferred Product Awards 2004.
The Preferred Product Awards were launched back in 2001 because Hills understands that innovation in installation products is the lifeblood of the building services industry.
And who better than one of the UK's leading building services contractors to judge the relative merits of new products and pick those most likely to shape the way buildings are put together in the future.
Since their introduction, these annual building services "Oscars" have become much sought after by manufacturers and distributors, as the winning products gain a much higher profile within Hills and - through press coverage - the wider M and E industry.
Past winners include MK Aspect, Gent "S-cubed" Fire Alarm Devices, Airedale Ultima Freecooling Chiller and Monodraught Sunpipe.
The successful suppliers are presented with their awards in front of 300 cheering guests at a thrilling black tie gala dinner, this year to be held in the lush surroundings of Birmingham's Botanical Gardens on October 14.
"This industry needs some, glitter, dynamism and energy, " says David Hill, Group Chief Executive of Hills.
"In grey, dark October the PP04 awards will deliver much needed motivation to the best and most innovative in the industry." The Preferred Product Awards are judged by a panel consisting of Hills directors and project managers along with independent industry figures.
They will be looking for products introduced since June 2003 which meet awards' criteria of innovation, health and safety benefits, reduction in installation time and environmental benefits.
Awards will be presented in up to 14 categories including electrical, lighting, HVAC, fire and security.
