Hilson Moran Academy for staff

Leading engineering consultancy Hilson Moran has launched the Hilson Moran Academy aimed at sharing best practice for staff training and development.

Technical Director Nigel Clark said, "Irrespective of the economic climate, we recognise the need to invest in staff development, both for the progression of individuals and also for the company".

"The best way to be ready for the future is to share best practice and we see the Academy as an exciting opportunity to share our wealth of knowledge internally".

"This will ensure we have the broadest range of tools, knowledge and experience to deliver a superior service and deal with the challenges and opportunities that the construction industry provides".

The Academy amalgamates a number of training and development activities which have always been provided by Hilson Moran, together with a significant number of new activities, into a single coordinated framework that will support the dissemination of best practice.

The philosophy behind the Academy is for experts and specialists within the practice to share knowledge with colleagues at all levels of role and experience.

Much of this will be done within group events - such as conferences, workshops, lunchtime seminars and focus groups, plus lectures and presentations from both internal and external experts.

Mentoring, coaching and brainstorming sessions are all part of our approach to skills sharing.

In addition to these informal sessions, formally structured training will be delivered via the Academy framework to ensure continual improvement of performance in all areas of the business.

Nigel Clark said, "Our vision for the Academy centres on the belief that the technical and professional expertise of our people is our greatest asset".
