Not only did Hi-Tec Spray design and supply a custom-built powder coating production line, it also ensured that the 'old' equipment was removed and the new kit installed during a planned shutdown period at the Yeovil factory.
Hi-Tec Spray worked around the clock, including over a weekend, to ensure that the new equipment was fully installed and operational by the time Standard and Pochin's workforce returned, so keeping disruption to production to an absolute minimum.
Hi-Tec Spray's Bob Wilson said that the new production line is based on a de-grease iron-phosphate system, which first cleans components, then applies a layer of iron-phosphate to 'scuff' the surface of the component.

As part of the GBP80,000 contract, Hi-Tec Spray's technical team also organised a comprehensive training programme for Standard and Pochin staff to enable them to use the new equipment in the safest and most effective way.
Standard and Pochin's Jon Malling said that the company manufactures and powder coats all metalwork in its own factory, ensuring flexibility when it comes to special requirements in design or even colour.
Installing the new equipment was a major project and it was crucial to minimise disruption to factory output.
"The upgraded production line will bring real benefits to our clients and we were very impressed with the quality of Hi-Tec Spray's work," he added.
