National Painting and Decorating Exhibition

Hi-Tec Spray's robot called Zigra was a showstopper at the National Painting and Decorating Exhibition.

After causing a stir at last year's National Painting and Decorating Show by having a bodypainting demonstration on its stand, complete with scantily-clad model, Kent-based surface coatings specialist Hi-Tec Spray decided to go one better at this year's event - by hiring a sassy female robot with attitude!.

Zigra proved to be quite a showstopper at the Sandown Park Exhibition Centre, Esher, Surrey, which once again hosted the UK's biggest showcase for painting and decorating products, on 27 and 28 September.

Zigra greeted astonished visitors as they arrived at the venue and invited them to visit the Hi-Tec Spray stand, where experts from the company's Maidstone head office and Dartford depot were offering free spray-painting demonstrations, top-of-the-range spray painting equipment at reduced prices, and the chance to sign up for free training sessions.

Hi-Tec Spray managing director Garry Dowling said: "After last year's bodypainting we thought a hi-tech robot would be the only way to top it.

Zigra was very saucy, chatting up the other exhibitors as well as the visitors, and she went down a storm".

As well as being entertained by the robot, Hi-Tec Spray customers had the chance to make huge savings on a number of Graco units.

Special offers included a free 4900 HVLP Turbine Spray System worth GBP1,082 with every Graco Ultra Max II 1095 airless spray machine purchased, plus a complete range of accessories free of charge with every Graco ST Max 595 purchased.

Hi-Tec Spray also gave visitors the chance to win a 390ST spray unit, worth GBP1,250, in its free-to-enter prize draw.

Garry Dowling said: "The show was extremely successful.

We sold a number of units during the two-day exhibition and had sales enquiries from a further 60 visitors to the stand".
