Businesses can now take advantage of a new 'green' insulating service just launched in the UK and Ireland

Thanks to the partnership between Kent-based surface coatings technology specialist Hi-Tec Spray and two specialist suppliers in Canada and Dublin, businesses can now take advantage of a new 'green' insulating service just launched in the UK and Ireland.

Celtic Building Solutions, based in Dublin, awarded a contract to Hi-Tec Spray to fit a 7.5 tonne mobile truck with equipment to deliver foam to insulate cavities in roofs and walls for commercial and industrial buildings.

Canadian company Icynene was asked to supply its special material, termed 'The Icynene Insulation System' for the truck.

Ken McGeever at Celtic Building Solutions said: "The rig Hi-Tec Spray custom-designed and fitted for the job means we are the first to offer 'The Icynene Insulation System' to businesses in the UK and Ireland.

The truck was one of the main attractions at the recent Irish Building Show 2005, where it was used in spray foam demonstrations".

Icynene's Jeff Hood said: "The Icynene Insulation System is sold in the US, Japan, Korea and China and is already recognised across North America for contributing to improved indoor air quality.

Its 'green' properties have drawn attention from healthy building initiatives including the American Lung Association's 'Health House' projects.

Icynene is a complete insulation and air barrier system which eliminates the need for excess sealing material.

It expands to 100 times its volume and is made up of 99% air and only 1% water-based material, which dramatically reduces waste, making it more environmentally friendly than other insulating products".

Phil Mackman at Hi-Tec Spray said: "Hi-Tec Spray had to meet a challenging brief for this contract.

As well as supplying fluid supply equipment and heated hoses capable of delivering the material up to 310ft from the truck, Hi-Tec Spray kitted the vehicle out with work benches, tools, spare parts and storage facilities.

We also supplied specialist breathing equipment and put a training package together to ensure the vehicle is used in the safest and most effective way".
