Halfen, leaders in construction fixing technology, are offering a new CPD seminar called 'Concrete Balconies and Thermal Bridging' The seminar is aimed at providing specifiers with an understanding of the problems of cold bridging often associated with concrete balconies and the methods to overcome them in compliance with the Building Regulations

The seminar covers the history of the balcony and the introduction and continual improvement of insulated external walls.

These created the increasing problems of condensation and mould growth resulting from cold bridging in concrete balconies.

Changes in Building Regulations that make avoidance of thermal bridging compulsory are noted and design considerations are discussed.

The insulated balcony connector, which reduces heat loss and prevents condensation, is explained in detail both as a product and in application in precast and in-situ concrete balconies.

The seminar concludes with a recent case study. Request a free brochure from Halfen ...
