Powerclick provides pipework support
flexibility

Halfen's Powerclick provides pipework support flexibility at Dubay polymer factory

With a requirement for over 2,000 special supports for pipework of nominal diameters up to 200 mm to be installed in a very limited amount of time whilst also providing for quick, easy and economical modification in the future, the DuBay polymer plant in Hamm-Untrop, Germany, opted for Halfen's Powerclick system, the heavy-duty 'big brother' to conventional strut framing systems A joint venture between DuPont and Bayer, the development is the world's largest plant for the production of PBT, an industrial thermoplastic

It is a continuous polycondensation plant based on the latest two-reactor technology and uses a very considerable volume of connecting pipework.

Originally tendered out to traditional welded steel construction, the pipework support posed considerable problems at the planning stage when it was realised that this method was unlikely to meet the tight construction deadlines.

Halfen's Powerclick was proposed as an alternative, offering both speed and ease of construction, together with simple and economic modification during construction and in the future.

Comprising a minimum of components that are all available ex-stock, Powerclick's flexibility comes from a box-section channel that incorporates a toothed channel, giving great torsional strength and safe load distribution.

The channel, which is assembled by means of connectors, accepts rapid assembly captive bolts for the fixing of pipe clamps and other accessories.

The components are supplied pre-assembled to make the construction of framing simple, quick and easy.

In the event, pipework installation was carried out in record time, the work being greatly facilitated by the ability of the installers to work from drawings without the need for continual measurement on site.

Powerclick's flexibility enabled adjustments to be simply made on site to meet requirements, which changed almost on a daily basis.

Components could be positioned on the channels and adjusted at any time right up to the last fixing.

Channels could also be re-positioned on and around posts as required. Request a free brochure from Halfen ...
