Deha lifters help precast culverts make
a turn

Halfen-Deha lifting system come up with a simple and safe solution to turning precast concrete culvert units for storm drains from their vertical casting position to a horizontal use position

Turning precast concrete culvert units for storm drains from their vertical casting position to a horizontal use position was proving to be a problem to Ennstone Precasting Division in Telford Part of the problem was the weight of the units - anything from 3.5 to 17 tonnes

The original method, which used a forklift truck to tip them into a sand bin, was both difficult and often posed a risk of damage to the final product.

Having used Halfen-Deha lifting systems for many years, Ennstone knew of Halfen's problem solving approach to product supply and put the challenge to the company who came up with a simple and safe solution - the Deha Transverse Lifting and Turning Attachment.

This is coupled to Lifting Pin Anchors that have been cast into the culvert units and enables them to be lifted and turned in one operation without risk of damage.

Mel Wilkins, Ennstone Works Manager, is impressed by the service provided by Halfen.

"The Deha lifters are the perfect answer to our problem," he says. Request a free brochure from Halfen ...
