Tune Into Halfen - For Vibration-Free Fixing
Halfen, the UK leading supplier of channel-based fixings for the building and construction industries, have the ready-made answer to new Control Of Vibration at Work Regulations.
At the Leeds project, being built by Shepherd Construction to the designs of Carey Jones Architects and Shepherd Design Structual Engineers, Dynagrip channel has been used in three lengths of 550mm, 650mm and 800mm.
The channels were cast vertically into the faces of concrete sheer walls.
Beams were fixed by means of high tensile T-head bolts that face-enter the channels at any point.
Vertical tolerance for positioning the beams was provided by the adjustment afforded by the Dynagrip channel.
Horizontal adjustment was achieved by slots in the end plates of the beams.
Halfen's HMA brickwork support system is also being used on the development fixed back to the company's Pourstop system.
David Bancroft, Project Structural Engineer for Shepherd Design, comments: "The building involves large areas of brickwork support with a lot of different details and we have been very satisfied with both the design assistance and the service that Halfen has given".
The HMA brickwork support system uses bracket angle to form continuous support to the extensive areas of brickwork that are a feature of the building.
Pourstop's L-shaped metal profile is being used to form the edge of the metal deck of the floor slabs whilst the channel incorporated into the vertical face provides simple, safe and secure fixings for the brickwork support system. Request a free brochure from Halfen ...
