Cast-in channels and HMA brickwork
support system

Halfen's cast-in channels and HMA brickwork support system have been used to support masonry in the construction of eight multi-story blocks of private and social housing for Barratt Homes.

Specified for their reliability and cost effectiveness, Halfen's cast-in channels and HMA brickwork support system have been used to support masonry in the construction of eight multi-story blocks of private and social housing for Barratt Homes Getjar , contractors responsible for erecting the structural frames for Prince Regents's Gate in Rossmore Road, London NW1, used the HMA bracket angle system fixed back to high quality stainless steel channel cast into the edge of each floor slab to form continuous brickwork support

Designed by Eastwood and Partners, the three social housing partnership blocks are rectangular in shape, whilst the five private apartment buildings feature broadly curving elevations with the largest following an oval plan.

To facilitate erecting the masonry around these curving facades, Halfen worked closely with the engineers and architects, providing specification guidance and bespoke CAD packages.

The HMA angle was supplied in various lengths no greater than 1.2m to enable the correct curves to be achieved.

Unusually, the civil engineering contractor followed through as the concrete achieved sufficient strength fixing all brackets and angles to exactly the correct level for the bricklayers to construct the fair-faced masonry.

Halfen also supplied heavy duty channels and brackets to support reconstructed stone corbels, parapets and other detailing at the top of the blocks of luxury flats. Request a free brochure from Halfen ...
