Halfen Brickwork Supports, Ties And Windposts
Halfen have produced a comprehensive ranges of brickwork supports, restraints and windposts that are described and illustrated in a new brochure.
At some 26 metres long, the U-shaped beams, designed by consulting engineers Peter Brett Associates, span from abutments to the piers located in the motorway's central reservation and at the verges.
Halfen's lifting loops were selected for the ease with which they could be threaded around the steelwork in the closely packed reinforcement cages.
This arrangement is not only convenient to precaster and contractor but also offers very even load distribution.
To meet the loadings involved and the requirements of the length and size of eye needed for ease of connection to the crane hook, Halfen supplied 32 of its 70 mm diameter loops.
Used in four sets of eight, the wire rope hoops enabled the 80 tonne beams to be moved around the precast yard, to be loaded onto a special extendable, flatbed articulated lorry for transport to site, and finally to be lifted into position.
The loops are part of Halfen's comprehensive range of lifters for the precast concrete industry. Request a free brochure from Halfen ...
