Halfen's Hit System overcomes cold bridging in balcony reinforcement for Bournemouth Project
The HIT System comprises special stainless steel couplers swaged onto high-yield reinforcement to form a full tension lap in the top steel and to make the unit easy to install the compression is taken by stainless steel double-headed studs.
These stainless steel components are housed in high-density polystyrene fabrication which provides the thermal separation between floor slab and balcony.
The photograph shows both standard edge trim to the polystyrene (extruded plastic) and the alternative board to give 90 minutes fire resistance.
The HIT System is supplied in versions for in-situ and precast applications and in modules of 1.0m and 0.2 metres that can be used in combination to avoid cutting. Request a free brochure from Halfen ...
