New brochure details Halfen Reinforcement's 'HIT' insulated balcony connection system

Halfen Reinforcement has published a new brochure describing their HIT System that combines reinforcement continuity with a thermal break for cantilevered balcony construction The HIT System is designed to help eliminate the effects of cold bridging, such as condensation and mould growth, associated with traditional reinforcement that is continuous from internal slab through to external balcony

The brochure details and illustrates the special stainless steel couplers that are swaged onto high-yield reinforcement to form a full tension lap in the top steel.

To make the unit easy to install, the compression is taken by stainless steel double-headed studs.

All stainless steel components are housed in a high-density polystyrene fabrication, which provides the thermal separation between floor slab and balcony.

The 12-page brochure details the system and its applications in a variety of balcony options, provides notes on design considerations for specifying, and lists the requirements of ordering and sitework.

Copies of the brochure are available on request. Request a free brochure from Halfen ...
