HL's approved installer, Height Solutions Ltd of Sheffield, recently addressed access and maintenance problems at Newage AVK SEG of Stamford, Lincs.

Fragile roof sheets restricted access for maintenance personnel to safely conduct general cleaning and remedial work.

In particular a blocked gutter, which was prone to causing costly flood damage to the factory, required vital attention.

Height Solutions solved the problem by installing SUREGRIPTM Walkways to all the main valleys and gable end gutters.

Additionally, SUREGRIPTM Fall Proof Covers, which are designed to prevent falls through fragile materials, were installed to provide further protection, thus removing the need for line systems.

As per the HSE's 'Hierarchy of Safety,' the installation provided fall prevention and collective protection rather than fall arrest.

All work by Height Solutions was conducted in line with the HSE'S recommendations as published in Health and Safety in Roof Work.
