Two different products from the range of HansenGlass have been supplied to a specialist sub-contractor working on a prestigious new residential development on the Thames.
The high performance insulating glass units manufactured by HansenGlass were installed within the bespoke curtain walling systems.
They were also used in both vertical and sloping applications on the building's imposing 9 by 15 metre atrium roof.
A key feature to the creation of the seven storey, fully and partially glazed elevations to No 6 Atlantic Quay was the production by HansenGlass of units presenting enamelled as well as screen-printed finishes, for decoration and concealment.
The sales director for Charles Henshaw, Mr Jim Walker, comments: "We required a non-standard lozenge shape frit across the bottom half of the full height glazing to offer privacy when viewed from outside.
HansenGlass was able to produce these using its Ceraphic screen-printing process.
"Then across the depth of the slab level, Ceramalite spandrel units were used to conceal the structure.
Some of these units have 75 mm of foil backed insulation to achieve the required U-value performance.
The effect produced is very pleasing to all involved." Charles Henshaw utilised the ThermoCool units in combination with both its dry glazed, capped curtain walling and its structural silicone glazing systems.
