Hunter Douglas Construction Elements, the UK's leading provider of integrated facade systems has strengthened its sales force with the appointment of Stephen Archer-Jones.

Stephen joins Hunter Douglas as sales and technical manager of the Hunter Douglas Sun Control division, where he will be responsible for overseeing its growth within the UK.

Sun control is increasingly being used in the construction industry to reduce the levels of solar heat gain in new and existing developments, forming an important element of the building envelope.

Working in conjunction with Luxalon's established insulated and rainscreen facade and glazing systems, the addition of sun control will enable Hunter Douglas to offer a complete facade system, specifically designed to help improve the energy performance of a building as well as reduce carbon emissions.

Stephen will be based in St Albans and operate throughout the UK.

In his spare time, he is a keen gliding enthusiast and he also competes regularly in triathlons.

He said: "Hunter Douglas is recognised across the industry as the market leader for providing high quality facade systems".

"As the need to provide low-energy buildings continues to grow in the UK, sun control is increasingly being used to provide an effective way of managing climate control within the structure of buildings".

""Joining Hunter Douglas offers me a terrific opportunity to further develop my career and I am really looking forward to the challenges offered by my new role".

Andrew Lee, general manager, Hunter Douglas Construction Elements, said: "Stephen brings with him considerable knowledge and experience of working with sun control.

He has keen interest and background in aerospace engineering and will form a key part of the company's current expansion plans in the UK.

"Over the last 12 months we have enjoyed a considerable period of growth and we are planning to strengthen our sales division within a number of areas over the next few months".

"Stephen will play an important role in the growth of our sun control division and with his knowledge and expertise I'm confident that he will be a tremendous asset to the company.".
