Hodgson Sealants HP500 Butyl Strip Sealant has successfully completed a third party accredited test regime.

Hodgson Sealants HP500 Butyl Strip Sealant has successfully completed a third party accredited test regime for the 5 tests identified in NFRC Technical Bulletin 36 Performance Standards for Butyl Strip Sealants in Metal Clad Buildings, resulting in a Class A performance classification Class A = Higher Performance

The industry requirement for higher performing sealants where properties such as extended life, higher movement accommodation or higher temperature performance, has increased, and the new classification for 'minimum performance' (Class B) and 'higher performance' (Class A) is used to help specifiers and users select the correct butyl strip sealant type to suit each project.

To be classed as either Class A or Class B a sealant must be able to meet the requirements for that class in all five tests.

Sealants that do not perform to the minimum standard (Class B) are not recommended for use in industrial metal clad buildings.

Having not only its own in-house test evidence, but the added benefit of third party confirmation of the results, Hodgson Sealants is now in a position in to provide the ultimate measure of confidence to the specifier, systems manufacturer, distributor and contractor.
