A Honeywell Control Systems product story

Honeywell's Sundial RF wireless enabled, energy saving controls packs for home heating systems are suitable for new heating installations and as an upgrade to existing systems.

Sundial RF packs contain a wireless enabled timer, a wireless thermostat and, where required, a wireless cylinder thermostat.

Installers have reported that the control packs save energy, time and costs and are easy to use.

One such installer reported: "With Sundial RF there is no need to hard wire the cylinder or room thermostat, saving a lot of time and money".

"It means less disruption to the customer".

Honeywell Sundial RF packs feature TPI (Time Proportional and Integral) advanced control.

TPI provides more accurate temperature control than traditional controls, and also matches boiler firing to the demands for heat from the heating system, so the boiler can operate more efficiently.

Tests by TACMA (The Association of Controls Manufacturers) show that under a single cycle steady state test, energy savings due to TPI control can be as much as 10 per cent compared with other room thermostats.

Sundial RF packs also make installation easier and faster than possible with other wireless heating controls due to the wireless receiver being built into the timer.

The benefits of wireless controls packs are greater where long cable runs would have been required.

Another installer commented: "Using a wireless enabled pack, we did not need to take up the floors to lay cable between the airing cupboard within the house and the boiler located out in the garage".

Wireless heating controls have been installed without problems in home extensions and in stone cottages with extremely thick walls, when the benefits of not having to run long controls cables or drilling cable holes is especially welcome, and installed in a fraction of the time.

Wireless enabled packs use the existing wiring, so there is no need to fit a receiver.

The new wireless enabled programmer uses an industry standard backplate, so the upgrade is a matter of slotting in the new timer in place of the original, after which the thermostat and new timer work together automatically.

The wireless thermostat can be wall mounted, or placed on a flat surface using the table top stand provided.
