TufSound wall and ceiling panels top performers
Hodgson and Hodgson has announced that its TufSound panels achieved an impressively high impact resistance rating in recent tests.
Prior to the introduction of the Euroclass rating system, each country in the EU had its own fire tests in support of its national building regulations.
A manufacturer wanting to sell construction products in the EU would have had to undertake more than 30 different tests for Reaction to Fire in order to do so.
Because of the difficulty of comparing the data from these many different tests, a common system of fire testing for construction products has been implemented across EU member states.
Tests in one country are now valid across the European Community as a whole.
"The A1 standard is the highest European fire safety classification that can be granted to a product," says Glynne Balshaw-Jones of Hodgson and Hodgson.
"The test criteria are stringent and the products really have to perform".
"Achieving the rating means our clients can now see at a glance the high safety levels of our Thermos ceiling tiles, an important factor when designing rooms and carrying out hazard and risk evaluation".
Thermos acoustic ceiling tile pads are available in a range of standard sizes and custom-made pads can be produced to fit any non-standard system.
Different combinations of thickness and density can also be specified.
Thermos ceiling tile pads are used extensively in all types of industrial, commercial and retail developments, as well as in the ticket halls of bus, rail and air terminals.
