TufSound wall and ceiling panels top performers

A Hodgson and Hodgson Group product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Nov 23, 2007

Hodgson and Hodgson has announced that its TufSound panels achieved an impressively high impact resistance rating in recent tests.

TufSound wall and ceiling panels provide a high level of impact resistance as well as acoustic performance.

TufSound is a decorative treatment, used in applications which need a contemporary feel combined with strength and durability.

Panels are designed to absorb airborne noise and reduce reverberation within a room, to create a softer, more comfortable acoustic environment.

The toughness of the panels is invaluable in buildings such as schools, airports, recording studios, workshops and factories, where they are extensively used.

When tested in accordance with BS EN 13964:2004, the TufSound panels achieved Class 2A, only one off the highest possible rating for impact resistance.

Add to this the panels' high levels of moisture resistance and TufSound's resilience is assured.

"Impact resistance is very important in many of the buildings where TufSound is used, so such a positive result in these tests was very pleasing." confirms Sandra Fixter of Hodgson and Hodgson.

"The results back up TufSound's reputation as a top quality, high performance product that will really stay the course".

TufSound panels are made from galvanised perforated steel with a sound-absorbing mineral wool infill, which may be covered to enhance their aesthetic appeal.

Alternative facings can be specified for particular applications, to prevent the ingress of fuel oil, lubricants or other substances.

The panels have a cleanable surface finish and are available with varying open areas to optimise acoustic performance.

Hodgson and Hodgson provides high quality thermal and acoustic consultancy, offering a total design, manufacture and installation service.

Working out of ten locations in the UK, the company has a team of highly-qualified acoustic engineers to offer assistance on all aspects of noise control.

Engineers can undertake noise surveys and give details of anticipated reverberation times both pre- and post-installation.
