According to Hargreaves Homes, Oldham has become the new hot spot for young professionals seeking an attractive home in the countryside, but within commuting distance of Manchester.

At County End, Hargreaves Homes' new development to the east of Oldham, houses and apartments are being sold as fast as they are built Hargreaves has submitted plans for the fourth phase, including the construction of a further 15 two bedroom apartments at the site which will all be built in York Stone, ensuring that they are in keeping with the local area

Gerry Sweeney, managing director of Hargreaves Homes, says: " The demand for apartments and houses for young professionals in the Oldham area is constantly rising, showing it is a very desirable place to live, so we have decided to build a further phase of apartments.

Many professionals want to move away from the city to live in the peace and quiet of the countryside, but still need good local amenities and access to the city and Oldham can provide all of these." Construction of the apartments being built in phase four is expected to begin in October 2003, and on completion in November 2004 the site will consist of 43 homes.
