Hydroscape Water Feature At Peninsula Barracks

Winchester's Peninsula Barracks has now been re-named Peninsula Square and converted into Grade 11 listed apartments with an impressive water feature its centre.

Historically home base for a number of Britain's finest regiments, Winchester's Peninsula Barracks has now been re-named Peninsula Square and converted into Grade 11 listed apartments.

At its centre is an impressive water feature rising to a height of five metres, though this was not always the case.

Constant operational problems with the original installation, exacerbated by regular failure of archaic pumping facilities led the residents committee to call in Hydroscape for their 'professional' advice.

Hydroscape quickly established existing pumping facilities were inadequate to cope with the loads and pressures required and recommended a number of changes be implemented, not just to the pumping station but to the actual water displays as well.

Leading from the Hydroscape recommendations an Aquacontrol 'Double Trellis' bowl fountain now provides an impressive and uninterrupted centrepiece for the pleasure of both residents and visitors alike.

Linked to this are two tributaries leading away to areas of foaming jets, with water re-circulating back to the main feature.

Hydroscape are UK distributors for Aquacontrol display aerators and fountains and were confident the facility offered would be simpler to maintain, cheaper to install and, ultimately, less costly to the residents for its operation.

The Aquacontrol Select range provides for both vertical and horizontal configurations to accommodate both deep and shallow depths with more than 30 visually dramatic spray patterns being available.

The Titan series offers a wide selection of big and beautiful patterns from 5HP to 30HP in either vertical or horizontal configurations.

Waterfall pumps and bowl fountains can also be supplied.
