Inscaff are running a 1 day system scaffold awareness course on 17 May 2006, in Horley near Gatwick Airport Inscaff is a scaffold training company which is developing a system scaffold qualification as recommended in the recent FISCA report

Billy Hare of the FISCA research team will be speaking at the event.

The course will cover a variety of topics as detailed below.

Current Legislation and its effects on scaffolding including, EN12811, WHR 2005 and the new Draft CDM Regulations.

A video demonstration of the new Advanced Guardrail System.

The benefits of system scaffolding.

Manufacturers tables and how they work.

Innovation - showing some of the new products and how they work in solving many construction headaches.

Manual Handling - examples of how system complies with guidelines and makes risk assessments much easier to control.

Training (Competence) - How to comply with WHR 2005 and provide "specific" training.

Practical examples of different types of system scaffolds, alternative low level access equipment and their applications and a walk round our exhibition area.(we will also have live training taking place at Wrays Farm so there will be an opportunity to observe).

The course will be well attended with representatives from various health and safety organisations, The Scottish Qualification Authority, DWP, Glasgow Caledonian University, Construction News, and SA-FE.
