HSE announces its support for The European Week for Health and Safety at work campaign.

HSE announces its support for The European Week for Health and Safety at work campaign.

With the key theme of 'Safe Start' the event will run from 23rd to 27th October 2006.

As with previous years, participation is at the heart of this event.

Organisers expect to welcome a variety of groups including young people, parents, schools, employers and trade associations.

Recognising the importance of children and young people, Jason Batt, Project Manager for the UK campaign commented: "Young People are the future of business, society and the economy, they should be provided with information on sensible health and safety".

The event hopes to raise awareness of Health and Safety matters in the workplace and generate understanding amongst children and young people that risks should be managed rather than eliminated.
