One of the UK's leading independent engineering consultants, Hulley and Kirkwood, has been appointed to provide MandE works on a new urban development in the heart of Edinburgh Quartermile is one of Scotland's largest urban regeneration projects and will be based on the 19-acre former Royal Infirmary site

The project will bring development, employment and investment opportunities to the area and will consist of 900 homes, over 350,000 sq.ft of office space and 80,000 sq.ft of leisure space for retail and restaurants.

The development is so vast it's predicted to change the skyline of Edinburgh.

Master planned by world-renowned architects, Foster and Partners, Quartermile will blend the capital's heritage with striking new buildings to create an exciting residential and business community.

Listed Victorian buildings will be regenerated and striking glass and steel buildings will take their place alongside them.

David Stewart, Director at Hulley and Kirkwood, commented: "We were delighted to be appointed as Gladedale's MandE Consultant for Quartermile".

"Over the years we have provided technical assistance for redevelopments to the former hospital, and more recently to the design of the New Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, so we have come full circle in the development of this site".
