Hulse wins contract for Hemisphere
development

Laing O'Rourke has awarded Hulse a contract to supply all mechanical and electrical services for Redrow Homes' Hemisphere residential development.

Main contractor Laing O'Rourke, has awarded Hulse, one of the UK's leading building services engineering companies, a contract worth £4.6 million, to supply all mechanical and electrical services for Redrow Homes' prestigious Hemisphere residential development of 334 apartments in Birmingham, adjacent to the Edgbaston Cricket Ground The mechanical aspects of the Hulse contract, cover design and build of rainwater and foul drainage systems, together with hot and cold water boosted services, throughout the development

Hulse will be supplying and installing bathroom suites and sanitary ware, and ventilation systems for all areas, including the latest jet fan ventilation system for the underground car parks.

The electrical work to be carried out by Hulse for Hemisphere covers the design and build of the entire electrical distribution system, from several incoming HV supplies, through sub-main distribution, to final circuit wiring in the apartments themselves, which include electric underfloor heating.

Hulse will also be providing site-wide CCTV and Access Control installations, and a MATV system for the latest Sky+ packages, including the new HD channels.

Hulse are currently designing the necessary installations and will start work on site, in March 2007, with completion scheduled for September 2008.
