Huntingdon Fusion lowers the cost of weld purging

A Huntingdon Fusion Techniques product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 20, 2010

Huntingdon Fusion Techniques (HFT) manufactures a wide range of purge products designed to minimise the volume of inert gas needed to ensure freedom from oxidation.

Weld purging is a common requirement during fabrication of pipes and vessels but unless special equipment is used, the cost of inert purge gas can be very high.

The problem of gas cost increases as the pipe or vessel diameter increases.

HFT has addressed this issue by producing versions of its Quick-Purge range to accommodate up to 2,000mm (80 inches) diameter.

Typically available at short notice, these globally recognised products can save up to 90 per cent gas costs.

The reduced purge volume made possible using Quick-Purge and the effective sealing provided means that purge times are dramatically reduced and atmospheric oxygen can't re-enter the purge volume.
