HygroMatik products specified for refurbishment

Swarovski Optik KG has specified HygroMatik's humidification high pressure system (HDS) for a major refurbishment of its converted production shops.

The most demanding element of the project was the decision of how the air humidification of the production hall could best be realised from an energy point of view, without compromising the strict regulatory requirements of Swarovski Optik KG.

In addition it was necessary to provide the most economical solution both in respect of production and also operation to reduce energy consumption and thus the associated CO emissions during running of the system.

It was planned from the outset to completely replace the old ventilation system and deaerator systems with a new air conditioning system and to fit the converted production shops with a new air duct distribution network.

The new system offers considerable cost savings per year and an additional CO saving potential.

HygroMatik Vortex wall, high pressure nozzles and droplet separators were used in the new air duct for distribution.

HygroMatik also installed a high pressure pump placed in front of the HDS unit to provide the nozzles with water.

The stringent requirements in the production and assembly shops concerned are characterised in particular by a controlled room atmosphere with ambient air temperatures between 23C +/- 1C and an air humidity of 45 per cent rh +/- 5 per cent throughout the year.
