Presentation Housing Association is the first customer to benefit from the latest new features developed for Ian Williams PDA handheld computers.

Presentation Housing enjoys the latest developments in PDA handhelds Presentation Housing Association, one of the UK's leading social investment agencies operating in 23 boroughs in London, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, is the first customer to benefit from the latest new features developed for Ian Williams PDA handheld computers Leading property service specialist Ian Williams has introduced innovative new features for the PDAs used by its responsive and maintenance teams looking after 3,000 properties for Presentation Housing across London

These features now include; client signature facilities for signing off projects as completed, camera technology to highlight unpredicted problem areas needing to be addressed immediately on projects, and photographic evidence showing proof of work finished and ready for client signing off.

The additional facilities also ensure customers have instant feedback on specific jobs and are therefore able to track their Key Performance Indicators more closely.

Reports can be fed direct to customers via email from the PDA's as well as being web accessible for instant access.

Alan Horton explains the benefits to customers: "Management of a large workforce involved in response maintenance must be supported by dependable, professional systems.

The new features on our PDA's now ensure each element involved in any project can be tracked and traced and managed more efficiently for the benefit of the customer.

Time is always of the essence when working in the response maintenance area.

You have to take fast efficient action and be on site solving any emergency as fast as possible.

The practical benefits to the customer can be summarised as the following: Time Saving - "One of its key benefits as a time management tool is that the PDAs display each operative's daily work schedule in order of priority, record where they are and when each job is completed.

All information is fed back to our server and this allows us to time manage the individual work requirements more effectively.

The PDA's tracking system allows us to immediately cut out any time wastage and delays by simply locating and notifying the closest operative to each emergency." Information Sharing - "Once each job is completed the information and any notes applicable for additional work, which could involve a different skilled area, is fed back to our centralised computer, and again sent straight to the nearest relevant skilled operative in the area.

Having the software facilities in place to provide up to the minute progress to the customer is something that very few providers can guarantee, we have invested in the most comprehensive and resilient system in order to do just that." Health and Safety - "The new system also allows us to be on top of any health and safety issues.

If for example an operative has any concerns on a specific job it is fed back to us and we are able to then share that information across the team as well as straight back to the customer much faster." Our business is based on an approach of continuous improvement and so we're always looking for ways to add value, streamline systems, increase productivity, work more effectively and deliver best value to clients and residents alike.

This is just another development to help us achieve just this.
