Property service specialist Ian Williams has joined forces with Rushcliffe Homes and Cropwell Bishop Primary School pupils to create a garden area at Rawlings Court in Nottingham.

Leading property service specialist Ian Williams has joined forces with Rushcliffe Homes and Cropwell Bishop Primary School pupils to create a garden area at Rawlings Court in Nottingham, which provides sheltered accommodation for 70 residents.

The garden makes use of a sloping area of grass and trees which was previously inaccessible to elderly residents.

Rebekah Locker, Performance Officer for Rushcliffe homes, contacted Ian Williams for help with the project: "We thought about creating a woodland garden and took the idea to the residents - they loved it".

"This has been a great example of different organisations working together to create something for the good of the community.

In true Ground Force style the Ian Williams team has given up weekends to work on the garden and has donated two benches.

Fred Whittall, Ian Williams' Response Maintenance Manager states: "The team has been working on the project on a voluntary basis for four weekends".

"It has been fantastic to see everyone, including management from both Ian Williams and Rushcliffe, working together".

"The camaraderie that we have achieved through this has been immeasurable".

A touch of magic was added by the pupils of Cropwell Bishop Primary School, who provided artwork for the site.

Amanda Whitehead, Senior Resident Liaison Officer at Ian Williams: "I joined pupils at the school as they painted pots and bird boxes to go on site".

"We also had great fun with the children when they came on-site to paint self-portraits on tiles".

"The result is a wonderful mix of colour and design that the residents will be able to enjoy for many years".

"Ian Williams is committed to investing in communities and this proved an ideal opportunity to give something back.

The company is experienced at working with teams and adds value to community projects through its expertise in the building and maintenance fields.
