Faversham House Group (FHG), the new owners of NEMEX, the National Energy Management Exhibition, have announced plans to transform the 2004 event which takes place at the NEC 30th March to 1st April.

With energy now the second biggest expenditure for commercial organisations after staffing costs, improving energy efficiency can provide an effective way of improving the bottom line for UK companies In addition, organisations are dealing with the pressures placed on them by corporate social responsibility and carbon management issues

With this in mind, significant investment is being made in the promotion and management of NEMEX, which will form part of the UK's biggest ever environment and energy event.

Faversham House Group believes that by bringing together the suppliers of products and services in the energy market and the involvement of the major associations and institutes, they can create a focal point for energy managers, engineers and consultants to help them deal with these issues in a cost effective and efficient manner.

To help visitors keep up-to-date with new opportunities, thinking and legislative changes, several streams of seminars and events in the adjoining NEC seminar facilities accompany the exhibition.

The programme is supported and shaped by the NEMEX Steering Group of industry experts and industry bodies such as ESTA, MEUC and the National Energy Foundation.

More details will be announced very shortly.

Embedded renewables is a major new theme for Nemex in 2004, showing organisations how they can benefit from incorporating renewable energy into their buildings.

Confirmed exhibitors for the 2004 event already include Siemens Energy Services, Invensys, London Energy, TEAM (Energy Auditing), nPower, STC Energy Solutions, Energy ICT/Seltek and Energy Services Ltd.

The organisers have also announced that NEMEX will be co-located with three other FHG events: the UK's leading environment exhibition, ET2004, the International Clean Up Exhibition and the EMF conference and exhibition.

All three shows focus on environmental compliance, sustainability and efficient resource use and FHG intends to exploit the synergies between the shows for the benefit of both exhibitors and visitors.

Professor Martin Fry, chairman of ESTA, chairman of the NEMEX steering committee and Visiting Professor for Energy at City University is encouraged by the involvement of the show's new owners.

"Energy efficiency plays a vital part in today's business economy.

Making the most of our resources either by consuming less or turning more to renewable supplies is vital not simply for the business bottom line but also for the sustainable future of society." he explained.

Catherine Iredale, exhibitions director at FHG commented: "NEMEX is the UK's only event dedicated to highlighting the issues surrounding energy management and efficiency.

Under its new stewardship, I fully expect the show to go from strength to strength.

I have been extremely encouraged by the number of key organisations who have already committed to exhibiting in 2004.".
