IBD Distribution supplies the invisible AC system

An IBD Distribution product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jan 8, 2010

The Invisible.AC Comfortzone system for individual room climate control is available from IBD Distribution.

The Invisible.AC small duct high velocity air conditioning system (sdHVAC) can now provide individual room climate control capability from small air handling units through the Comfortzone system.

This allows occupiers to customise the temperature for hotel rooms or offices.

Invisible.AC's Comfortzone system allows 2.5 kW to 25kW air handling units to be used to condition the climate of individual rooms through the use of in-room thermostats.

These are set by occupants and automatically open or close dampers in the Invisible.AC's ducting system.

Sensors in the main supply duct monitor the static pressure as the dampers open and close.

They then adjust the fan speed accordingly, allowing the occupant to set heating/cooling levels to their individual preferred temperature.

Invisible.AC air handling units are powered by ebm-papst highly noise and energy efficient EC blowers, giving a 60 per cent energy saving over older technology sdHVAC systems using AC fans.

These can be sited in roof spaces, ceilings and cupboards.

Invisible.AC provides a quick temperature change response time, even air circulation with consistent room temperatures of no more than 1 degree C variation, with no cold or hot spots for occupants.

Invisible.AC can link seamlessly with both Daikin's and Mitsubishi's latest condensing unit technology/heat-pump systems as well as virtually any manufacturer's air or ground source heat pumps.

Units can also be linked to any hot water source for heating, from a traditional gas or oil fired boiler to a wood pellet burner.

Invisible.AC products incorporate variable speed control and together with the zoning capability, these are energy efficiency features for air conditioning systems recognised by the Carbon Trust.
