IBD strengthens its engineering support team

IBD Distribution, along with its manufacturing partner Invisible.AC, has underlined its commitment to providing the best engineering support for sdHVAC systems.

Dr Martin Jones has joined Invisible.AC, offering expertise on air movement and acoustic design.

His technical knowledge will support all areas of the company's business including RandD, manufacturing and senior level project supervision.

With a Master's degree and a Doctorate in Applied Acoustics, Dr Jones' business career has included a long term association with Smiths Industries, managing director for the Vent-Axia air handling company and the technical authority for innovation at the FlexTek ducting division.

IBD Distribution has also announced the appointment of Dan Wells, who has a BSc Hons Computer Aided Product Design, as technical support engineer.

He will be responsible for applied design and technical support for customers in the areas of heat pumps and sdHVAC systems.

Dan has extensive design and manufacturing industry experience including positions with Gen 3 Systems as Mechanical Development Engineer, Craftwood Interiors and Harvey Electrical as CAD draughtsman.

His CAD knowledge includes AutoCAD, Solidworks, Ides and UGS NX.

Ian Smith, general manager of IBD Distribution, said: "We welcome these two outstanding professionals to our team".

"We also send our best wishes to Rinus Groenewald who leaves us after three years to widen his career before returning to South Africa in 2012.
