Volume House Builder Award for Countryside Properties all featured Ibstock bricks.

One of the special satisfactions of being awarded the BDA 2004 Volume House Builder Award for Countryside Properties is that the judgement covers a body of work that is considered to be of a sufficiently high standard, not just a single outstanding building The developments include both suburban and urban locations but all of them featured Ibstock bricks

John Jones, Designer for Countryside Properties commented: "We chose Ibstock bricks because of the depth of their range; we have worked with them for a long time and get excellent local support".

Two different styles of houses were featured in Countryside Properties' suburban developments, built at Whychwood Park, near Nantwich and Cronton near Widnes, Cheshire, and both used Ibstock's Parkhouse Weston Red Multi and Leicester Grosvenor County Mixture.

The Vistas, Wychwood Park, Crewe, comprises four and five bedroomed houses in 42 plots in the first phase.

Design features include dormer windows, first floor balconies and, on the corner plots, a curved ground plan with an eaves-to-ridge glass roof over a living area with feature first floor gallery.

Caxton Place, Cronton near Widnes, is a more mixed development of 54 plots with one and two bed apartments and three to four bed houses.

The development includes traditional style features such as projecting hung-tile first floors over curved bays, complementing the mature landscaping surrounding it.

Countryside Properties' contemporarily designed urban development, South at Didsbury Point in Manchester, comprises four storeys of one and two bed apartments for private sale, on a totally redeveloped site off the Princess Parkway, a main route into Manchester.

Here, Ibstock's Dorset Red Stock was installed to the ground floor elevations and featured as a central brick panel around the main picture windows to the next three floors, in combination with other cladding materials such as rendered concrete.
