Two products from waterproofing systems manufacturer Icopal have become their latest specialist building membranes to achieve BBA accreditation.
The shingles are complemented by a matching shingle strip in roll form, making detailing at roof edges and valleys simpler and easier to install.
SafeSeal is a high-performance waterproofing system that is designed to give a professional finish to new or refurbished flat roofs but is safe, simple and speedy to install.
A self-adhesive system suitable for a wide range of flat roof applications including all types of domestic building extensions, garages, porches and dormers, it negates the need for bitumen boilers and roofing torches, making the installer's job both safer and cleaner.
The system comprises two self-adhesive layers for maximum waterproofing security - an underlay with self-adhesive SBS bitumen on the underside and a polyethylene film on top, and a capsheet with the same SBS bitumen underside and side overlaps but with decorative slate granules on top to provide UV protection.
TerraDek complements Icopal's launch of an adjustable support system for paved and raised deck applications.
Manufactured from renewable Maritime Pine which was selected for its rich colour, strength and hardness combined with light weight, Roofgard TerraDek is a natural alternative to concrete or stone.
UV resistant and protected from attack by micro-organisms and insects for 10 years, the tiles feature a grooved anti-slip upper surface and chamfered edges.
They can also be coloured and easily cut to size and shape.
The Roofgard paving support system that they sit on provides a versatile yet cost-effective means of creating a fully-supported and stable raised paved area, terrace, walkway or balcony that enables specifiers and installers to make full use of a new-build or refurbished building without damaging any waterproofing membrane.
Quick and easy to install, it can be easily adjusted to overcome differences in height and roof levels, creating a totally level surface.
It also allows services such as cables and piping to remain in place and be accessible for maintenance but be hidden from sight. Request a free brochure from Icopal ...
