IAC Controls Noise At Heathrow Terminal 5
IAC has secured a large HVAC attenuation contract from the British Airports Authority, for London Heathrow's Terminal 5.
The studio was built using IAC's patented Moduline system - modular pre-manufactured acoustic panels - to highly stringent acoustic criteria.
High compressive-strength flooring was used for smooth tracking of the TV cameras, while a GPS-controlled tracking system was fitted to the ceiling panels to enable remote control of the cameras themselves.
IAC also supplied integral steelwork within the roof panels of the studio for mounting the studio lighting grid.
All inlet and outlets of the fan coil units of the air conditioning system were fitted with IAC custom-engineered sound attenuators.
From the date of approval, the studio took just 8 weeks to deliver and a night-time build minimised disruption.
(IAC goes the extra mile!) Tony Argyrou, Project Manager, Studios said: "This contract is one of a number we have supplied to NTL over the years - our contribution to their growth to become one of the UK's leading cable companies.".
