The first IEE International BETNET Conference - Intelligent Innovations for a Sustainable Quality of Life will takeplace 11-13 October 2004 at Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel, Hong Kong.

Sustainability embraces a wide range of social, economic and environmental aspects that need urgent attention Buildngs and thieir uses have a very significant impact on the environment, productivity and the quality of life

Fundamentals to sustainable buildings are safety, comfort, health and efficient use of resources.

Intelligent building systems should be flexible to adapt to changes in use, and be responsive to the users needs over their entire lifecycle.

This first international conference, organised jointly between the Hong Kong branch of the IEE and the BETNET Professional Network, will highlight intelligent and sustainable solutions that can improve upon electrical supply and distribution, and specialist systems and equipment that can be used in and on buildings.

The event explores the opportunities and benefits of using intelligent systems within buildings to improve performance and sustainability.
