New HVAC Automation Provides Seamless Connectivity
ABB's drives for the HVAC sector are now supported by software drivers for the Compass protocol conversion system, from North Communications.
By combining accurate temperature control with a presence detection sensor and networked enabled, the ION Tx PIR unit can contribute to major energy savings of up to 30% over existing conventional 'dumb' thermostats.
The PIR sensor also functions as an out-of-hours alarm alert when connected to a Building Management System (BMS) Supervisor.
An ION Starter Development Kit (SDK) is now available to prospective System Integrators (SI) that includes the ION Modbus configuration software application and a serial RS232 to RS485 converter to connect direct to a PC.
